ACTIVE ESCAPE TO MALLORCA

I hope all you guys are having a lovely week! Summer is here and holidays plans ahead,so don’wait too much and start thinking your next destination!

I was lucky enough to book a week away from the cloudy London weather and I went to Mallorca for a week last May, booking my holidays through fleetway.com,which I did 6 years ago and offer a great deals. My accommodation at Hoteles Globales Samoa was in Calas de Mallorca, a turist area far from big cities but with lovely places around ,so if you need any suggestions, I would share sith you 3 active plans to enjoy the sun being active :

1.Hiking or Trail Running : from Calas de Mallorca, there are many trail ways to discover beaches walking mostly of the time beside the sea. My morning plan before breakfast was run 5k to 10k running around ,following 2 different routes:

A. North Route: From Calas de Mallorca to Cala Antena, ( Antena Cove) a little bit more futher, there are 5k running beside the sea that you can turn back and completed your 10k route.

B.South Route: From Calas de Mallorca, Cala Domingos to Cala Murada are another 5k approximately that you can complete your 10k on your way back.

2.Discover new beaches and Snorkelling: If you drive from Calas de Mallorca, you can find a great hidden beaches like Cala Varqués ,15 km from my accommodation and 3km walking from the parking area through wild forest where if you put attention you can see turtles!. at Cala Varqués you will find white sunny beach and clear water on the middle of the wild, with some small boats ,landscape that brings you peace far way from the busy beaches. And also,if you walk a little bit more far away by the north side, you will find a great cliff with a window shape similar to the old Malta construction, which is worth it to see.

Cala Sá Náu is located 20km away from Calas de Mallorca, close by S’Horta village, following a small road from this place around beautiful villas and country side. The beach is lovely, as you can not see the sea from there, because the clift drawed a “snake” way to acces by the sea made this place spectacular. It has a beach bar ,bamboo hamacas and a great area to practice snorkelling and see the difference fishes and also jellyfish!.

3. Visit tourist places and cycling : The Drach cave is one of the most iconic places of the island. It is located in Portocristo, a small town close to Calas de Mallorca. A romantic a lovely trip on a small boat through the cave finishing with a beautiful live classic concert ,it is just an experience that you can not miss. The second recommendation of this option, it is travel to Cap Formentor , an incredible landscape where the mountains meets the sea. It is an area really popular for road cicying as it is one of the annual half-Ironman location, which you can practice and challenge yourself with elevation gain points .One of othe most interesting routes is from Pollença town to Formentor lighthouse ,18km to push yourself to the limits. If you don’t have a bike ,don’t worry ,there are many good places to rent a nice bike for cheap money and have a great experience like https://www.cycleclassictours.com .

After the bike route, don’t forget to relax visiting Saint Vicente Cove, a lovely town sitting on a beautiful cove ,where big clifts meets the a small sandy beach and its clear water amd also places to eat and refresh yourself enjoying the nice weather.

So this is all from me! I hope that I convinced you to visit this nice balearic island and try its traditional food like ensaimadas!

Have a great summer! A Lot of travel love By Miriam
